On March 4 1961, the Youth Fellowship was formed in some locality of Mizoram. Later in 1967, District Board held on 29 May passed agenda to formed Pentecost Thalai Pawl, also known as Pentecostal Conqueror. Evan Chhuanvawra, Zemabawk was the first President. By the year 1969, the name Pentecostal Conqueror was changed into ‘Pentecostal Youth Department’.

In 1996, after the reformation of United Pentecostal Church of MIZORAM, Pentecostal Youth Department held its first conference on 29-31 March 1996 at Ruantlang, Mizoram.

Since Pentecostal Youth was formed in 4^th March 1961, this date was pronounced as the rising day of Pentecostal Youth Department in Mizoram and is celebrated every year.

                               Aims and Objectives: (PYD thil tum te)

1. To become the right hand and the piller of the church for a stronger and more progressed church. (Kohhran chak leh hmasawn nan a kohhran kut leh ke ban pawimawh tak nih)

2. To put forth with utmost strength and ability for moral reconstruction amongst the youth. ( Ṭhalai te nunkawng siamṭhat nana theih tawp chhuah)

3.To deliberate and to strive towards physical and spiritual progression/development. ( Tisa leh thlarau lama ṭhalaite hmasawnna tur ngaihtuaha beih)

4. To spread(out) the whole Gospel to all mankind. ( Chanchinṭha famkim puandarh)
